Tooth Gem Aftercare

To ensure your gem stays secure and your teeth stay healthy, please follow these instructions carefully:

Avoid licking, picking at, or playing with your gem.

First 1–2 Hours

  • Do not smoke during this time.
  • Optional avoid eating or drinking anything if you want to be extra careful

First 24–48 Hours

  • Avoid the following:
    • Sticky, hard, crunchy, or acidic food
    • Gum, candy, spicy or citrusy items
    • Coffee, tea, soda, alcohol, and anything that can stain
  • Rinse with water after eating or drinking acidic beverages when possible.
  • Brush gently using a soft-bristled toothbrush and sensitive toothpaste. Avoid aggressive brushing near the gem.
  • Do not use:
    • Charcoal toothpaste
    • Hydrogen peroxide
    • Baking soda
    • Over-the-counter whitening products or strips

Ongoing Care

  • Continue your regular dental hygiene routine: brush twice daily and floss.
  • Use a soft-bristle toothbrush on gemmed teeth. Avoid using electric brushes directly on the gem if possible.
  • Do not attempt to remove the gem yourself. Removal should be performed by a dental professional.
  • With proper care, your gem can last from several weeks to years, depending on eating and drinking habits, oral hygiene and many other factors such as application, materials, genetics, acidity of your saliva and more.
